The start of the new millennium did not start out to well. I am one of the few people in the world to have a near fatal accident in free fall. I had the misfortune of having a skydiving accident, and ended up in the hospital for almost three weeks. It’s times like these that you find out who your true friends are. I had a lot of help from friends and family in the process of my recovery. I think that one of the most helpful things that did happen to help my altitude and inter strength, was a good adventure in the Rocky Mountains. That summer I found that although I could not walk very well, I could still ride the hell out of a motorcycle!
While out on a Sunday cruse Mike
and I decided to take some time off and load up the bikes on a trailer,
through a tent in back of the truck and head out for Colorado. It turned
out to be one the best times I have ever had on two wheels. We camped out
in an area called the Eleven Mile Canyon. It was strategically located
within 70 miles of all the major highlights of the Rocky Mountain Range.
Each day was a new quest to find the perfect curvy road, and we found plenty.
Throughout our riding we visited Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, Cripple Creek,
Canyon City, Colorado Springs, and the Royal Gorge.
