My Little Girl Dandelion

 This is My Girl Dandelion and she is living proof that dreams do come true. I had come to terms with the fact that I would never have a child a long time ago. When I was younger, children and I just did not jive for one reason or another. As I have grown older sometimes I would fantasize about how my little girl would turn out, if I would’ve had one.  My perfect little girl would be an action figure like Lara Croft; pretty, smart, and not afraid of anything. I would teach her many things but most of all I would try to guide her away from the same mistakes I made growing up. My girl would have a heart of gold and would be beautiful, intelligent, and would use her powers of beauty for good, not evil.  

 When I found and married Amber I truly felt I had been blessed, but to my surprise marrying Amber came with another blessing. Amber is the type who would have made a wonderful mother, but is unable to have any children of her own. Amber attracts children like a magnet and has put many children on the right track, teaching them real-world life survival skills.  

 One day while standing in the front yard with one of my good friends Paul, a young girl came walking up to me with a bouquet of wild flowers and a note. The girl asked if I could give them to Ms. Amber. I told the little girl that she is out back working in the yard and she could give them to her herself. The little girl said no and asked if I would give them to her. I told the girl “Sure, I would give them to Ms. Amber and thank you”. Off the little girl went down the street. After that day Dandelion was a common site around the house. Amber put her on the payroll so she could save up money for a horse camp she attends every summer. Amber has taught her how to sew, the proper way to clean house, along with many of those “women things” that guys just don't understand, and I have had me a little helper in the yard. 

 It has been around 4 years since that cute little girl with the rosy cheeks showed up in my front yard. Since then me and Dandelion have created a wonderful bond and she has become one of my closest friends. When she looks at me I can see her love and respect in her eyes and she looks up to me as a role model. We have the kind of relationship that she can tell me anything and knows that I will not judge her. She knows that I will give her my honest opinion drawing from my lifetime experiences.  

Since Dandelion and I have become so close I feel as if she is My Little Girl. She has filled a space in my heart that I did not know existed. Anyone that has had a child love them and look up to them knows the feeling that I speak of. I do not believe there is a better feeling in the world!  

 Dandelion told me something that made a big lump well up in my throat and touched my heart recently. She told me she would always be My Little Girl no matter how old she is. When I mentioned that I was going to make a webpage on Normanknight.com dedicated to her and was searching for the perfect song, she suggested the song playing My Little Girl by Tim McGraw. Her suggestion also made my heart melt and made me glow with pride 

 So this page will become an index page that will continue to grow as she does. I will very much enjoy documenting an extraordinary young girl becoming a beautiful talented young woman over the coming years......
